Shelter Construction for IDPs
The Shelter Construction for IDPs project, implemented under Project Reference No. 03/KBL/008/PRW/G.03/ROA, was carried out in Jabul Saraj District of Parwan Province with the support of UNHCR. The project was designed as a shelter and housing intervention aimed at addressing the accommodation needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and providing vulnerable families with safer and more adequate living conditions. Under the project, a total of 300 shelters were constructed, directly benefiting 300 IDP households. The intervention aimed to provide displaced families with appropriate residential shelter, improve their living conditions, and reduce their vulnerability by establishing safer and more stable housing. Project activities included coordination with targeted beneficiary households, organization and implementation of shelter construction works, management of construction activities and required resources, and monitoring of works to support the satisfactory completion of the planned shelters. The project focused on delivering functional housing units within the established implementation period while responding to the immediate shelter needs of displaced families. The project was implemented from 1 June 2003 to 31 August 2003, with a reported project value of 48,430. Through the construction of essential housing infrastructure, the intervention contributed to improving the safety, dignity, protection, and overall living conditions of internally displaced households in the targeted area. Overall, the project represented an important humanitarian shelter intervention. Through the construction of 300 shelters for 300 IDP households in Jabul Saraj District, Parwan Province, the project supported displaced families in establishing more secure and stable living environments under UNHCR Project Reference No. 03/KBL/008/PRW/G.03/ROA.
